In collaboration with Lo Specchio Youth Actors, Roskilde and students from Strandgårdskolen, Ishøj
(Run-Through) was developed over a six-week residency in which a large empty commercial space in the Ishøj By Center mall was turned into a production studio for students from the local Strandgårdskolen who came for weekly sessions during school hours to create sets and props for the musical. Together they built, painted, and sculpted trees, a large face-hole backdrop, over-sized heads, and cardboard instruments for the O.K. Band.
Meanwhile in Roskilde thirty-three members of Lo Specchio Youth Theatre developed and rehearsed the scenes and songs put together for this iteration. Performed over two days at Arken Museum for Modern Art, O.K. – The Musical (Run-Through) became a self-referential Danish-language play with youth acting the scripted parts of a theatre company putting on the musical including Director, Producer, Conductor, Stage Crew, Actors and Musicians. The musical numbers were separated by scenes characterized by mishaps, constant interruptions, misunderstandings, protests, and general unruliness.
The Lo Specchio Youth Theatre was directed by Cecilie Høg, and the Strandgårdskolen students were mentored by Johnny Krog and Cecilie Henriksen. Full credits are listed under Collaborators.
